Soling
Composition Soling is a very dense blend of an SBR (synthetic butadiene rubber) rubber compound and clay that provides good abrasion and good rigidity for outsole use.
Fine Rib and Wide Rib, also known as Vulcrepe, are SBR rubber compounds which provide good abrasion along with flexibility for outsole use. The Fine Rib is available in 1/8" where greater flexibility is needed, while the Wide Rib is more suitable for applications where a thicker sole is needed.
Wavy Gum is a synthetic gum rubber, which simulates the properties of real gum rubber while providing very high abrasion resistance. Very flexible. Higher degree of anti-slip quality than SBR rubber compounds. Wavy rib pattern.
Gum Crinkle, also known as Luna Crepe is similar to Wavy Gum, but with a crinkle pattern for better wear properties.
Midsoling is a high density SBR rubber compound used to provide rigidity between the shoe bottom and the outsole, or buildup.
Minicheck is a high abrasion SBR rubber compound used primarily as a thin, lightweight sole protector in buildup applications. Also used to cap postings on Orthotics. Cross hatch design enhances the non-skid properties of the Minicheck. Equivalent of "Topy".
